It's been said that culture eats strategy for breakfast. In this case, culture has taken a bite out of the workforce over at Zappos.
According to several reports, 210 employees from Zappos have decided to take a management buy out instead of working under their new self-management model known as Holacracy.
Zappos' strategy has always been to push the boundaries of culture in an attempt to bring innovation and growth.
With about 14% of their staff leaving it has certainly not grown their head count, but who knows if this new organizational structure will work and if this strategy will increase shareholder value. Only time will tell..
